Attending NANOG45 InformationNANOG45 Attendee Dominican Republic Entry RequirementsNANOG45 Attendees will be classified as tourists of the Dominican Republic. A Tourist Card (to be purchased on arrival for $10 USD each), and an embarkation form (to be completed on arrival) are required for entry. To ensure timely processing of your entry into the DR, be sure to bring a copy of your confirmed NANOG Registration form with your Passport.Related links: NANOG 45 Invitation InformationIf you are registered and need a formal letter of invitation to attend the 45th Meeting of the North American Network Operators' Group (NANOG 45), in the Dominican Republic from January 25-28, 2009, please contact Merit Network Inc. via email to nanog-support@nanog.org or phone at (734) 527-5700.Exiting the Dominican RepublicIf you needed a Tourist Card to enter the Dominican Republic you would have had one part of the card returned to you after passing through Immigration upon arrival. This second part must be presented back to Immigration when you depart the Dominican Republic. In the event you lose this portion of your Tourist Card during your visit, you will be required to purchase a new Tourist Card for US $10 before passing through Immigration.If you fly into the Dominican Republic, please note there is a US $20 Departure Tax you must pay before leaving the Airport. ****Having the exact amount of US dollars will save you time and trouble.**** The airport authorities processing this tax will generally take Dominican Pesos as payment, but it is usually at a much higher exchange rate than if you were to pay in US dollars. You will be provided a receipt for this payment and this must be presented (usually at the gate) before getting on your departing flight. We look forward to seeing you for NANOG 45 in Santo Domingo.
